Working with People: Gerson Signs

Neat Series viewed the people who helped us to realize our actions as collaborators. Tom and his wife Angie at the local business Gerson Signs took and produced our ACA sign intervention order. Although we put in an order for the vinyl text to be fixed to PVC board (the material on which ACA had its original signs printed), Tom called us one afternoon and told us he was going to use aluminum for our signs. "It's much more durable. That way we'll make sure they stay around for a while at ACA," he said. We were delighted.

Their son Andrew was around the business the afternoon we picked up the signs. We had a fun conversation with Andrew and promised we'd post the pics we took on our blog.

Tom asked us about our signs project and what other kind of work we did as artists. When we mentioned the ringtones, he asked if we could make him a chicken ringtone. Tom, we owe you and your family a chicken ringtone! We'll get it produced ASAP.

The Gerson family also produced the laminated print of our flora/fauna sign. This receipt shows the total amount we paid for the production of the sign intervention materials.
